So spring formal is coming up ... should I pull an 11th grade and say I'm now taking applications for "my date?"

Hehe. Nah. I just have to start looking soon.

So I admit I'm a whiney bitch. I'm sorry for this. If you're not sure what I’m talking about, read the post below about why Engineering blows.

Yet, all my being a wimp aside, and knowing that I won't transfer out or drop out or fail out or even get lower than a 3.5 by the time Freshman year is over, at least admit that Engineering blows.

It's Monday night, 9:45PM, and I'm blowing off WNUR so I can study. Granted, I should have my wrists slapped for being some sort of hypocrite and not doing the work I have and instead posting on this website, but I'm making this one quick. Imagine this post not as a post for me to whine with, but as a post about what I’m up to. Because that’s what I used to post about, just what’s been going on. Now you know why I stopped posting, because the same is always going on.

Basically, tomorrow is a midterm in Honors EA4, a.k.a. Honors Differential Equations. I have three or four weeks of material to catch up on. I’ve done none of the homework, because we don’t have to turn it in. So, tonight I will do about 4 chapters worth of diffeq’s, from 2nd order to resonance and what not. Tonight I will not sleep.

Wednesday, I have due the usual Honors EA3 problem set which tends to take a good 5-10 hours depending, plus the usual ECE problem set which usually takes 1-3 hours. Also, Tuesdays I have class till 4, WNUR till 6:30, and Peer Advising till 7:30 or 8:00. This is why the homework is started so late and why (if you recall) Tuesday I will not sleep.

Thursday I have my EDC design proposal due and an Honors EA3 quiz that night. I’m done with shit on Wednesdays by about 7:00, and then it is cram time. Wednesday I might sleep.

So Friday is lab time, so when I’m done with that quiz on Thursday and yet another meeting, it’s usually about 9 or 10 at night. Most people are heading out to clubs, the keg, or to a party, and I’m in my dorm room doing ECE lab. The last time I fell asleep at five on accident because I couldn’t physically sustain myself (as usual) but this time I hope not to sleep until it’s finished at whatever time that might be.

So, best case scenario I don’t sleep till Wednesday night … We’ll give that a 48 hour awake period. Worst case scenario, I don’t sleep till Friday night. We’ll call that 96 hours.

I love this cycle. Oh, and today … Emma had a pool party back in Louisville and actually IM’ed me in order to invite me.

all I have to say

all I have to say is shame on this world!

So I never update this site because college keeps me too busy.

I'm going to use this week, the most recentest week from hell as an example (and basically, the most recentest week is always the most from hell because weeks from hell (every week) exponentially get worse).

Last Sunday.

I get up at 10, which is probably the first time ever this year (sans Easter Sunday) that I've ever gotten up before noon on Sunday. Did laundry, then the fun began. Engineering Design and Communication meeting at 1:00, but because laundry didn't finish on time I was a few late. I work on transcribing some notes, and then leave for a softball game at 2:40. By 2:50, I was halfway to the field and halfway rained on. By 2:55 I was diverted to my fraternity house, completely rained on, and the game was canceled. Now I knew this would be the mostest week from hell, but rather than get work done, I hang out there till dinner at five, and then afterwards fuck around, suddenly after dinner it's seven already, and I knew I had to go to mass at nine, so no point in heading back to the dorm, after mass I have to go back to the house to do my kitchen jobs, and then I don't really remember how the evening ends because it seems so long ago. I think I went back to the dorm, fucked around and went to bed.

Last Monday.

Class till one, then I go home and blow off my four o'clock class so i could work straight till chapter at 7. Now, I don't normally work on mondays because problem sets aren't due till wednesday. But I always end up pulling all nighters tuesday night because I don't start till tuesday. So I specifically started my homework on Monday, at 3:00, and worked on it till 7:00. I got through the first two problems, and that was it. Out of six. Hence why starting my homework still made it the week from hell.

So after chapter, i can't go home and work, because I have to go rehearse for Maysing. Maysing is a big serious of short musical plays that the greek community puts on for the greek community. It's pretty pointless, pathetic, and obnoxious, but a ton of fun. We were doing it this year with Pi Beat Phi's, a bunch of girls we really didn't know but found out were quite cool and a lot of fun (and many of them pretty cute). so we did Maysing rehearsal that night, and I learned a dance to "Pebble's mom has got it going on" (Because it was a cartoon themed maysing).

so I get done with that quite late, it was probably 10 or 11 when I get back, fuck around till midnight, try to finish problem #2 of the homework, but fell asleep. Again, the week from hell.

Last Tuesday and Wednesday.

So, I have come to the realization that it would not be Wednesday if the night before I slept more than an hour. Conversley, I have decided, that Wednesday never comes because I never fall asleep Tuesday nights.

This is rather painful, believe me. So Tuesday I had class till 4, then at five it was off to the house to prepare for Maysing. Get there, dinner, then we do a quick dry run, and head over. Maysing lasted from 7 (we had to be there at 6) till about 9 or 10, I don't even remember, but it was long. All the shows sucked but ours, yet we tied for third place. It was a ton of fun, and my part went well enough, especially a line where I get to shout "The Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science!"

After Maysing, it was EA homework till 5:30. At which point, I tell Rishi I'm going to take a quick nap, and at 6:00 he gets us coffee and I start my ECE homework. Somehow, I get through most of that problem set by the time we leave for class at 9:40. I don't know how I learned the material so quickly. So everything was finished, and it was Wednesday, and I hadn't slept, and about 3 o'clock I finally crash. wake up at five for a meeting.

now here's the thing, the EA homework didnt' stop, because due Thursday was the "Asynchronous Option" homework due date. This homework is for people who wanted to finish the class two weeks early. I felt like "fuck yeah!" but also was dead tired. I also had diffeq lab in the morning and an EDC report due. What ends up happening? I fall asleep that night without doing any of it!

Although, something interesting I did wednesday before falling asleep was go to this relationships talk by some woman from georgia. It was interesting, she talked about how women are looking for things like caring, understanding, appreciation, reassurance ... and guys are looking for things like trust, and ... actually, I forgot most of the things guys are looking for. But it was a little female biased, and a little useless, but whatever.

Thursday.

Wake up, realize I had passed out on top of my bed and never even took my clothes off, go to class till four, then "Greek Feud", then I started my ECE lab around nine. The lab was to build a pacemaker, which actually made it quite exciting, but I got distracted and by 11 hadn't done much except strip my breadboard. But I continued to work, and by 2:30 got really tired, and fell asleep till my roommate came back rather late, woke me back up, I kept working on lab till like 5 ... and get it all wired up by 5:30. Plug it in, and realize it wasn't working right.

SHIT. I fuck around with it, and realize that all of my variables had been shifted because of a stupid mistake, so I had to redo the entire lab (this is what I get for not testing the functions in my head first, before wiring them). So I start to rewrite one of my three functions, and all of a sudden I wake up and it's eight in the morning. My pen was still in my hand, the paper, circuit board, wires, all were still in front of me, and IN FACT, i'd left the circuits on and my LED's had been lit up for the 3 something hours i'd been asleep.

somehow, I manage to rewrite the other two functions, and rewire them all by nine (yes, all in one hour) just in time to plug it in, verify it works, take a shower, change, and make it to class on time (which ended up being canceled anyway!)

class canceled, which was good, because I was going to use the time I normally get up at 8 till 9 to write my essay due at noon, so I go to tech lab and write my essay.

So that was that, and last night Diya came in town and Nisha, she, and I all saw Troy and it was bad and Orlando Bloom is the biggest woman/tool ever. Diya so elegantly put it that he has five vaginas. Then we played caps, and Nisha's gamma phi friends were with us, and one of them left and the other brought over her 25 year old cousin who brought with her 2 packs of mike's hard lemonade, and it was awfully awkward and luckily they left. Then around four or five our evening ended, and that was that.

Saturday.

Today I did nothing.

The End.
