OK, well, yes I know

OK, well, yes I know it's 4:00 in the morning, and I know that Spork said he was going to bed, but that doesn't mean administrator can't stay up ;-). Anyway, just wanted to inform some people that the server went down today for about a minute (the usual time) because I had to reset it to get the database connectivity to work correctly. For some reason some access restrictions were in place, and the couldn't be removed. Happy surfing, merry christmas, and have a pleasant Kwanza.

Alright! More great advances in TheSpork.com tonight! Or shall I say this morning? Seeing as it is right around 3:30 in the morning. NavySEAL2B and I just got finished talking, he's working on some asp stuff over at his website, doubt any of it's up, I don't even bother to look anymore. But he's slowly progressing using his WIZYWIG ASP editor. He claims it'll be cool. Ha. But, my large achievement for the night was using databases for my remote news updater. Now, instead of logging in, and then entering my name, my email, and the update, I just login, and my page will automatically LOOK UP my username and my email. So now, whenever I update the site, all I have to do is log in, and write my update. My site will automatically apply the time of the update, the date, the user that updated, and their email. It's very neat. I know this again, like the last accomplishment, was nothing that excites you guys, but this is a large step towards Spork logins, where users can login and give their input, upload their pictures, change their settings, and hopefully even check their mail, or post on the message board. It's all progressing, and it's going to be sweet in the end.

Well, it is after all 3:30 in the morning, so I best be sleeping now. I'm going to have the largest sleep hangover tomorrow. G'night world.

Merry F***ING Christmas!!! Oh, and

Merry F***ING Christmas!!! Oh, and have a pleasant Hunnukah. Well, this is big news for me, probably doesn't mean a thing for you lay people, but I now update my site via a webpage. No more of that crappy create a text document stuff. I just come to my little news updater page, login, it varifies my username and password, then it let's me enter my stuff, and it automatically, when I hit "update", timestamps it with the current date and time. It's pretty phat.

Anyway, as you can see, it's sometime around 1:00 in the morning of Christmas Day! Hurray! And well, to tell you the truth I'm not quite sure what I'm getting for christmas. In fact, Santa could have already visited by now, and I didn't realize it. I mean com'n, I don't sleep. Why would I do that? It just ruins the body. Yeah, kind of like I am right now. I went snowboarding on Friday and had a whole lot of fun, and it was the coldest day yet this year, and although I had a ton of layers on, it was my hands and toes that got cold, and thus I cought a cold. So all day saturday, all day sunday (sort of like today, but not technically because technically today is tomorrow) I've been really sick with that cold.

Then to top it all off, my eldest brother was in town using my computer and broke it! Bastard ... Oh well, I guess it's all in the name of having a "merry christmas" with your family. How fun. Christmas time rocks. It's like that south park episode, which I'll describe now:

First, I should introduce the episode by saying that this was the first ever episode, that has never actually been showed on TV. How I've seen it? Don't ask. Anyway, first, this evil snowman comes and starts attacking people. It kills Kenny, who in this episode is actually eric. I guess when Comedy Central bought the show, they changed a few things around. Oh, and I should say that the animation is incredibly crappy, and I think they did it on loose leaf paper. Anyway, it kills kenny, they do the whole you killed kenny bit. Then there's one of those nativity scene things nearby, and the little baby Jesus doll comes to life. It kills Santa, and goes back to sleep. I can't remember if it's a killer Santa or Snowman. Anyway, Stan is all like "Hey, I really learned something today (like he does in every episode)." And he's like "I learned the true meaning of Christmas." And Kyle is like "Yeah, Jesus." And Stan is like "No, it's not about Jesus." "Well what is it about?" "Presents. It's about presents" Kyle - "Yeah ... hey, let's go to my house, I know where my mom hides my presents." It's hilarious.

So, yes, presents. I can't wait to get mine, even if I only get a few, even if they're bad. I can always sell them on eBay.

OK! Here's the deal. I

OK! Here's the deal. I AM going to start updating every day again. And i'm going to start working very hard on figuring out some code to make logins for thespork. Because I'm going to be pretty busy when school starts again, the only way to keep stuff coming is for you all to give back. So what I'm going to have is a little account based site, where you can log in, and check your spork messages, and then maybe like post some news updates under your section.

And if I can't do either of that, try to make it so that you can upload your own pictures for viewing. That would be cool. Because like, for instance, the RaPics directory are pictures that Rachel has sent me, and technically so are the party pictures. But you could each get your own little directory and stuff, and that would be really nifty. Plus I am going to try to put up a poll. That would be extremely tight. So you all can vote on stuff I put up. Hell yeah!

Ok. Some of you didn't

Ok. Some of you didn't see the update yesterday, and probably didn't even visit yesterday after the point it was updated, BUT! basically my stupid code, I forgot that arrays start at 0, not 1, so it was displaying basically the second news update through the 6th, instead of the 1st through the 5th. For those taking C++ class and know for loops, basically I had a for loop that was (int i=1;i<=5;i++) when it was suppose to be (int i=0;i<=4;i++). Anyway, gtg, I'll work on the site later today and add some cool shiznat!

Alright! Finally I've updated! Let's

Alright! Finally I've updated! Let's see what's new. First, it only displays the past 5 news updates. Second, at the bottom of the page you'll find a news archive.

::tech talk::

Then I made it so that there's another parameter to add on the end of index.asp? called news, that you can choose a news update to look at individually. My naming scheme is always year/month/day.txt. So today's update is 001216.txt, and if there is a second update, then it's 001216b.txt (I skip "a").

Here's my todo list.

1)Stats pages for FiEnD and Boofungle
2)Fix Frontpage Server Extensions
3)Polls!
4)REmote News Updates
5)Cookies

::end tech talk::

Fiend is cooking up an excellent article over at Fiend-oc.com, so look out for that, it's gonna rock. I'm actually going to start posting articles over there as well, and he seems to have found a guy in Texas who is willing to work for the company. If we ever start getting hits, we're going to have to find a new connection. I might have to start putting banners at the bottom of the page to pay for the site! Anyway, got a whole bunch of new music. Underworld - "Everything, EVerything"; Prodigy's 3 CD's, "Experience", "Fat Of The Land", and "Music for the Jilted Generation"; Bt's 3 CD's, "Ima", "ESCM (Electric Sky Church Music)", and "Movement In Still Life". Oh, and of course, Our Lady Peace's "Spiritual Machines".

OK. By now I've probably lost all you readers, especially those who visited every day. But listen. I'm going to start updating soon, trust me. I'm going to start changing the site soon too. All I have to do is get through this week. Finals are this week, and I need to study for them! I'm supposed to be studying right now! It's been an hour and a half since I started! So yeah, Just give me till next friday, then I'll be through with finals, and have all of break to make the site incredible. Plus I might go out tonight and hopefully I can borrow my sister's digital camera and take some pictures. So just stay tuned, and be sure to visit my affiliates, boofungal and fiend-oc. That should keep you occupied until I get back on my feet.

I'm not dead yet! I'm

I'm not dead yet! I'm just incredibly busy! There's so much going on I don't know how to handle myself. In a second I'm going to explode. And that's when I'll be dead, but don't worry, spork will live on in all of your hearts (or at least that's what I'm telling myself). So yeah, no new aps code, or new cool features of the site, or even new photos. That's right, I'm a lazy bum. But we ARE happy to announce two new hosted sites on thespork.com.

www.boofungal.com - erluti's website
www.fiend-oc.com - FiEnD's Website (some of you may remember here.)

So I guess that's more news for the Administrator to take care of, but oh well. Friday's gonna be fun. Why you ask? BECAUSE IT'LL BE FRIDAY, DUH. I need like a 4 week long break, and unfortunately it has to come BEFORE winter break, and preferably right now. Ha, good luck, huh? Yeah, I know.

::tech talk::

Got a new hard drive, dunno if I said that earlier. ATA100, it's largely increased performance on my box. Also, turns out my motherboard isn't broken, so, right on. There's just some wacked up sensors on it, that go off NOT in fact anything overheating, just some misread voltage. So yeah.

::end tech talk::

I also bought a new Visor Platinum hand held device so I can finally keep people's numbers when I'm given them, remember them, write down my assignments, things I always need to remember, other stuff, etc. It's hopefully goign to help immensely with my organizational skills that I lack. So right on.
