Alright, I'm wondering, does anyone

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

Alright, I'm wondering, does anyone like the halfway complete new plans for a layout? I haven't figured out what to do with the text yet, but any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Basically, I have been "writer's blocking" on what to do with the text, and then I realized that if everyone hates the layout anyway as it is, then there's no point in even figuring out what to do with the text.

Everyone post their opinion since the poll is down.

Few things I wanted to

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

Few things I wanted to post about.

One. Got an IM from Grant while at work today (I'm still at work, but I VNCed into the home pc). All it said was that he'd snuck onto a computer somehow even though he wasn't supposed to and he just IMed to say "sup." He also said

xGTGx (11:22:17 AM): this place sucks.i get a computer in another 2 weeks. talk to ya then. later.

Poor guy. Hopefully it only sucks cause it's bootcamp still and classes haven't started.

Two. I was playing golf yesterday with Nick Mattei (kamel), his little brother, and my little brother. We were playing Cherokee Golf Course, and it was twilight golf (after 6PM) so it was the cheap rates. Anyway, walkin' up hole hole number nine (it's a nine hole course) I caught a wiff of that watered golf course grass nigth air smell. It brought back all my meories of driving the picker at the Louisville Country Club on the driving range just picking up golf balls while listening to all my music. It was kind of cool . Just one smell of that grass and BAM! I knew the smell, and I was thinking "I know that smell" and then BAM! again I had it, and it was awesome experiencing the sensory link to memories.

Three. I got a free lunch today! My boss, and all of my coworkers, then the group that is like our sister group, all its employees and its boss, and then the boss that brings the two groups together ... all of us had lunch today and it kicked major booty. Crap cakes, cuban sandwiches, lamb ... mmmm. It was tres good. I am full now. And consequently, I am ready for a nap. But I cannot nap, I have to do work. Unfortunately, in order to do work, I need my boss and/or coworker named "Donovan." However, both are at a meeting together. So I can't do work. So I am not active. So I want to sleep, but cannot or I will be fired (more than likely). No, they'd probably just tell me to head home early. Which I might do anyway. Anyway, so I post now to stay active.

Four. I guess I owe an update. I've been playing a lot of golf and getting a lot better. I found out my dorm at Northwestern, I'll be staying in 1835 Hinman which is the dorm I stayed in when I did the PreviewNU program. So I already know some upper classmen who'll be in that dorm next year. I've been exchanging emails back and forth with my new roommate, his name is Kyle and he's from Minnesota. I will try not to pull one of these (see note on girl from minnesota) on him. God I felt like an ass, I can't believe I thought she was imitating her accent. Anyway, he listens to good music (The Get Up Kids!) but in his genres was listed emo. Let's hope by emo he means bands that are actually punk but people try to call emo (like The Get Up Kids, or At the Drive In). Otherwise, I will have to try not to pull one of these on him 616, 617, 618, 619, 620, 621 [wow, I just re-read all those, and that was some crazy shiat]).

Other than that, I haven't really done much this summer other than 'Nam, work, Jersey, and then more work and some golf. That's about it for now.

My idea to get rich

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

My idea to get rich quick harvesting oxygen through cheap and inexpensive electrolysis procedures and opening my own oxygen bar in Louisville, making for one of the first in town, and selling this oxygen for almost 1000% its worth has just been shot down.

Turns out it aint so great

My life is finally turning

| 5 Comments | No TrackBacks

My life is finally turning around. I buy a Mellow Yellow, instead of my usual Mr. Pibb Xtra, screw off the cap, and I'd won two tickets to six flags.

Who wants to go rollercoastin'!!!

Woohoo!

I think I like Mellow Yellow now for this reason. Afterall. Mr. Pibb promises one in six chances for free product, and I've won once in about eight bottles. Fanta promises one in four, and I've won once in four. Mellow Yellow promises one in four, and I've won three in three. Tell me these aren't good odds. Two Free Six Flags Tickets, $10 off Six Flag Ticket, and one free 20oz Coke Product. BOOYAH.

Oh, this is all at work. And I save my bottles whether I won or not and keep them on top of my cubicle. People laugh, because everyone else in the building has booze on top of their cubicle, and all the free booze they've won from the company ... me, a minor ... I have no booze. But I have soda bottles.

update: Oh, and I found that there is free coffee on the floor! This day is great.

The old layout is 80

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

The old layout is 80 percent back. However, I can't get ASP 3.0 to access any MSAccess databases anymore. My JET Engine has crapped out in that respect.

We'll see what happens.

basically, I have two databases

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

basically, I have two databases ... an access database and a sql database

I upgraded to win2k service pack 4, and then upgraded to the .NET Framework v1.1

well, updating the .NET Framework created a new machine.config ... this is understandable, and this was the reason for the down time a few days ago, joanna and basik's sites as well

One of the two upgrades also fucked over my access database (thankfully, not the sql database, the important one)

So, I couldn't get the poll to work, the only thing that used the access database

So I double clicked the page, instead of right clicking going to open with> notepad, and so frontpage pops up ... I hate frontpage

I try to make my changes from there, and I save and test, and it's stupid "auto format" shit has messed the entire page up... no sweat, I'll pull the page from a backup

Well, I pull up a backup, copy it, paste it over the old one, load the page ... turns out my backup was REALLY REALLY OLD

So that explains the terrible layout right now. I have lost the only copy of the old layout.

No matter, I can remodel the layout based off of the comments page, because it's similar. After this is done, I'm also going to move thespork.com off of ASP 3.0 and move it to ASP.NET (Joanna and Basik use completely ASP.NET versions of the update script, while I do not because that means my poll doesn't work)

so yeah, oops

i'm home ... and I'm

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

i'm home ... and I'm sick of jersey ... more later

i get home to someone trying to send me some stupid "your friend has set you up on a blind date" thing .... whoever did this, please go shoot yourself

in other news ... wait, actually, unless the girl is hot ;-) in which case im/email me and let me know ;-)

ummm, I should find out by the end of the month, my grades for senior year (because supposedly these came a long time ago and my parents chose not to tell me, but have since LOST my grades ....), my dorm, my roommate, my app scores, and probably some more fun stuff about the future ... I'm hoping my roommate is cool ... that'd be nice

so yea, i'm back, and I'll write about my trip later.

actually, there's not really much to write about, so why not do it now?

basically, we had a house some 50-75 yards from the water, depending on the tide, and every day we went for 2-3 hours walks along the beach, I ran 2-3 miles every other day, evened out my farmer's tan a little (if you look hard, it's still there) ... umm, the ocean was really nice and ... jersey sucks ::cue guster::

I hate jersey, and all the people there. No, it's not really that bad, and forgive me for anyone from jersey that reads this site, I don't really hate you ... it's just ... as I just finished describing it to Marc "Jersey is just ... not right." It's not a bad place, it's not as horrible as some make it out to be ... but it's just ... not right. I would go back to Jersey anytime, especially to the shore. Just ... I don't think I could ever live there. I dunno, I shouldn't be bashing fellow Americans ... that's too ... unAmerican. ;-)

Well, that's basically it. The food was only ok, you'd figure being on the shore that they'd have good restaurants and seafood, but I guess we just had bad luck half the time. The last night though, we ate at the Lobster House in Cape May (south of Stone Harbor) and oh my god was that amazing food. It was the best way, really, to end the trip.

so I'm back.

End Transmission.

alright, well, I'm off to

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

alright, well, I'm off to jersey ... I just read that I don't register for classes until the day before classes are supposed to start .... wow, that's intense

update: I will have my cell phone
me <--- just found a roll of orange cap ultramax iso 400 film
me <--- old school
me <--- really giddy

Well, it's 3:00 and I've

| 10 Comments | No TrackBacks

Well, it's 3:00 and I've already been to Dennison, Ohio, and back for the day. I had to drop Jimmy and his friends Alix and Charlie off at Dennison University for a lacrosse camp. Exciting. My mom did the drive there, so I slept basically, while listening to a few Delerium, Hooverphonic, and Massive Attack hits, and I drove the way back, starting off with a little U2 - Joshua Tree and then just classic rock stations all the way back. The rain made the trip pretty crazy, I was driving for a good half hour in rain so hard you couldn't really see more than twenty feet ahead of you. It was crazy, but I kick ass :-P. My mom tails like a mo-fo, so bad that in bumper to bumper traffic she'll accellerate to move up a few feet and break to stop. I thought it was funny when twice she told me to get off someone's ass. But enough about that.

Anyway, tomorrow I go to work as usual, but I'm leaving the office between twelve and two so we can leave for new jersey between two and four respectively. I'm going to be there all week, hopefully without internet access, for a little family summer vacation deal. Lots of sun, some golf, a little tennis, book reading, beach, etc. My Dad's been doing some sort of project with Lenox (brown forman owns lenox) and he's been having to spend a lot of time in Jersey, and so we decided to go up there as a family so he could work during the day and then come home, only home is our condo we're staying in or whatever it is.

So yeah, I'll be gone for a while. What else. My week has been good, I have started running almost every day again. And lifting weights. I'm going to head out and do that here shortly. I just feel ten times better all the time when I run every day. It's a good feeling to get your energy moving.

I bought some new DVD's. Empire Records, but I might have already said that some posts back ... and then Move Gallery was doing a buy 2 used dvd's get 2 free, and normally it's only buy 2 get 1, so I jumped on that shiat. Actually, I was going to just do the buy 2 get 1 deal, but when I got the checkout they told me it was buy 2 get 2 for a short time. So I had The Ring, Road to Perdition, and One Hour Photo, and I added Catch Me If You Can when I found out about the deal. So it was 28 bucks plus tax for 4 movies. Not bad. That's seven dollars a movie, AND when i got them home and opened them, only two had light scratches on them, and by light I mean LIGHT. Some of my current movies are in worse condition. So I was HAPPY.

And then ... hmm ... work is going well, that boss of mine might contract me outside the office to help a friend of his out with an online shopping cart deal. I really want this gig, cause I promised them a 5000 dollar website for 1500, which is about right (cause I'm not corporate web designer, so 1500 is a good site) and I've wanted to build a shopping cart for SO LONG but never had a client that wanted one. Hopefully they don't find a better offer.

And then, let's see. I think this essay for northwestern might be due tomorrow for a hiking thing that is the week before orientation/classes, but I haven't started. Plus i'm not even sure if tomorrow even is the due date. I need to figure this out. I will soon.

Other than that, I think that's it. I need a good multiplayer gamecube game. Any suggestions?

Spork.

hey lookie lookie!
