Sweet.
Up until now, I had eight (8) AP credits coming into Northwestern. This gave me Sophomore standing winter quarter of my Freshman year (for those of you who forget, there are three (3) quarters a school year, winter being the second). It also gave me Junior standing winter quarter this year. Eleven (11) credits is sophomore, twenty-two (22) is junior, thirty-three (33) is senior. Most people take 12 credits a year, but thus far I've been taking 11 (dropped a class last year, dropped one this year).
Alright, the math is complicated, I know, but basically ... 8 AP's, plus 11 first year, plus 11 second year is 30 credits. I'm taking two summer courses. That reaches 32. So I'm one shy of starting my junior year as a senior.
Well, my entire time here at NU I've never received my AP Computer Science credit (CS 110). So today I took care of that. BAM ... 33 credits once I finish the summer session.
So what, who cares, you're co-oping and throwing on an extra major, you're graduating in five years not three or even four.
Well, basically, only reason I'm excited, is I get a car this summer and if I get a co-op job I get it for the rest of my time at NU. But maybe, I can persuade the 'rents to let me keep the car for the inbetween time after summer and before I land a co-op job. With senior standing, I'd be able to get a senior parking pass as a junior and have a car without the hassle of street parking (there is a parking lot directly below my fraternity house).
Rock out.
