Turn and Cough

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

Today I thought I was just getting a drug test. But no, I was wrong.

Not only did I have to pee in a cup, but I had a vision test. I hadnt slept well last night, and my eyes were cloudy. They began by asking me to read line 8. I barely read line 5.

And what's much worse and a total shock surprise to what I thought was just whizzing in a little jar ... I had to turn and cough. It was awkward.

But at least the guy made up for it by responding with "Where's that?" when I told him I went to Northwestern University (we were like, 10 minutes from campus max). I looked surprised and he responded with a laugh and said "I do that to everyone ... it really surprises them."

Eric's A-Game

Eric: Your hair looks really nice.
Me: Is that what you tell Bryn to make her happy?
Eric: No. I just rub her clit.

Transportation Economics

Tomorrow is my last final exam for close to nine months. It will be testing my knowledge of Economics 355: Transportation Economics. After this exam, I will have about 1.2 final projects to finish by Friday. After that, Spring Break in Naples, Florida, Saturday to Saturday. That following Monday I start my new co-op job at S&C Electric in their Fuse Products Division. It's rather exciting to be leaving the academic world for six months (I said nine earlier because I start my next academic quarter in six months, and it will therefore be nine months till my next final exam).

I haven't had a complete break from academics since the summer of 2004. That's a long time ago. This past summer I was taking two classes and doing research forty hours a week. That's about as involved in academia as I ever want to be or plan to be for the rest of my life.

Yeah, in summary, school sucks, but quite soon I'll have a nice long break from it. Of course I'm sort of putting it off, forcing myself to stay an extra year. But at the same time, I'm getting out into the "real" world sooner. Eh.

My fraternity thinks they're so badass now because we have track jackets ... with out letters on them ... and they're gray. Yes, track jackets! Of course! This will be the thing that finally brings us into the top tier! Once everyone sees 53 guys wearing the same gray track jacket, and probably jeans, and therefore dressed exactly the same then everyone will want to be like us because 53 is not enough. It's actually more like 30, but that's another story.

Aggravation

I always am walking to and from class, or driving in my car, or sitting in class when I realize an idea of some sort for a blog post that isn't incredibly invasive or private that I can put up here. Sadly, a few hours later when I am near a computer I never remember it. I need to start updating from my phone or something. But I don't pay for web, so that would be expensive.

Maybe I should start updating drunk, like Jo's latest post, which was one of the most entertaining I've read in some time (I can easily imagine how a drunken joanna would think like the post is written) or maybe I could take a Wytock approach. Either way, it might work.
