Alright, so I think it's

Alright, so I think it's time for my incubus review. First of all, NavySEAL was right, the venue did suck. And the fact that we couldn't go down to the floor, sucked even more. Things were off to a bad start from the beginning. The fact that Dayton was getting Incubus at such a horrible place like Hara in such a terrible city like Dayton over Louisville just made us pissed off. Then, when we got there they seperated the girls from the guys in the line and so we lost Ashley and Joanna right away. Then, the security guard actually took Grant's markers. Apparantly they're weapons. Felt tipped markers as weapons ... How are people supposed to get albums signed with no markers? Anyway, Grant's idea to ask the guard that if he couldn't succeed in stabbing himself through the forehead with his sharpie if he could please take them inside would have been great. Too bad he thought of it inside.

When we got inside, it was time to find Joanna and Ashley. We walked into the main arena and saw a whole bunch of people on the floor. Suddenly, I realized we were being shafted. Walked up to the guard and asked how we get down there. Nope, we don't have floor tickets, we have arena tickets. So we're walking around the arena looking for them and they're not in the stands. Suddenly, Grant catches his eyes on them ... on the floor! We try calling to them, but a guard comes up and says we're not allowed to talk to people on the floor. I ask why not. He says we could get tickets from them and sneak down there. So I ask him if I could stand back and she could stand back. No, of course not. So I ask if I could stand back, she could stand back, and the security guard could not only watch but listen to us and make sure we don't exchange tickets. No, of course not, that would be too simple.

Well, we tried for the next half hour to persuade Joanna to just borrow three tickets from people down on the floor. That way she could walk out of the floor with three tickets, give us each one, and we all walk back in and present our tickets. Then we give the people back their tickets. In case you were wondering, we basically walked along the rail while joanna walked along the rail on the floor and talked to her. Anyway, finally I think Grant managed to go down and make the final persuasion, and apparantly they did try and nobody would give up their tickets even for a few minutes. Screw them :). Anyway, the show started. First came The Start. They weren't bad, I'll admit I wasn't paying too much attention to them because I wanted to get down to the floor, but from what I remember they were good.

Finally, out came Incubus, and they started things off with Privelage. The show, for the most part, was decent. I love their music, what can I say. The show part of the show (like entertaining the crowd) was totally non-existant. That was kind of dissapointing. It would have been nice if Brandon decided to do Azwethinkweiz and he forgot the lyrics again. Oh well. There was an encore, but it wasn't much of an encore. I think they just pretty much took a break. We weren't even cheering that loud and they came back out. I'm guessing they're just pretending like the crowd encores every show and just comes back out. Our Lady Peace's show at Jillian's ... now THAT was an encore. Anyway, Mexico was cool, Warning definitely rocked. I liked Wish You Were Here, only thing was that everyone knew the lyrics, whereas on the others (as Grant mentioned) I was one of the few singing. Apparantly my singing was annoying, but I dont' care. Songs that weren't great: they definitely shouldn't have done Nebula. He really screwed up the rhythm and stuff, in my opinion. He tried to do his little crescendos that are in the song but it just doesn't work live.

Ah yes, my security guard incident. So it's during the start. People keep lighting up behind us and the guards keep seeing it and shining their flashlights on them and then motioning for them to stop. So I'm getting pissed off they keep shining the light in my eyes when they would shine at the people behind me. So everytime I'd hold up my middle finger as a gesture of thanks for the ability to see in the dark. Well, this happened like 3 times before the guard realized I was flicking him off. He shines the light on my face, which sorta drops my hand out of suprise. He runs up the stairs to my row and shines the light on my face again and points his finger at me. Then motiongs for me to follow. I'm just sorta sitting there, sometimes mouthing out "what" and other times just sorta shaking my head no. Finally he won't leave, and about a minute later I was thinking he was about to come and grab me. So I decide to get up and go over there.

Guard: "I'm just trying to do my job, it's for you safety. And if you want to try to give me the finger again I'm going to take this foot and shove it up your ass" (he points to his foot).
Me: "I am going to have your job for saying something like that to me"
Guard: can't remember what he says
Me: "No, really, I'm going to have your job, what is your name"
Guard: again mumbling something I don't remember
Me: "Tell me your name"
Guard: "You want my name?"
Me: "Yes, tell me your name"
Guard: "Bob"
Me: "Tell me your real name"
Guard: "dick"
Me: "Fuck you"

I then walked back to my seat. Anyway, that was the extant of the show, between the start and incubus when they turned on the lights the guard would every now and then look right at me but look away when I noticed. The guy was an idiot for saying his name was dick. Well, yeah, good music, great band, horrible venue, and hopefully next year grant buys the tickets and we get floor seats.
