My views on the XBox / PoS2 controversy as a Best Buy Media and Game Specialist Representative:
XBox is gonna r0x0r j00r s0x0r. It will have the sweet hardware, the honorable Chef Penguino is right, it WON'T be based off old formats, and it's gonna be HDTV compatible! It's going to be literally the ultimate entertainment machine. DVD's'll be played with it, it's going to have component, s/video, surround, hdtv outs, resolution settings, etc. Second of all, Chef is right. The PoS2 has a horrible game base. Every single time we try to find a game of a certain type for someone we can never find it. Tons of old people come in looking for little kid games, they dont' have that either. And while nor will the XBox, that's what I'm promoting the gamecube for. It's going to have those games for the little tikes that don't know how to play things like Project Ego. If Bill Gates can put forth so much freaking money like he did on this to basically say "I WANT TO PUT THE OTHER SYSTEMS off the market, then I think the richest man in the world could afford to do it." Just like everything Microsoft has been developing lately, they keep talking to the people and getting their input. Visual Basic and especially the new dot net features are all built off of programmer input. Same with the XBox. They not only talked to the developers who make the games for the xbox, but the consumers as well who want to buy the system.
