I'm trying to make up for the lack of updates due to server downtime by posting a lot.
After I cleaned my car, I posted then ate dinner and then went and saw Old School with Jimmy (the little bro). It was funny, a good watch, but not necessarily one to buy on DVD or anything. Will Farell is always good for a laugh. Especially when he lights on fire in this movie. Good stuff. Luke Wilson wasn't bad either, but definitely no Owen. Afterwards Jim and I went to Steak and Shake and I ate away the running and weight lifting I did today with a strawberry shake.
You know, I'm really into this Evanescence band. I think I hate the Daredevil single (Bring Me To Life) only because of the guys that sing. Amy Lee, the chick, has an incredible voice! Why do they have to ruin that with Linkin Parkish rap/singing on an otherwise ok track? But even if you remove the guys from the track it's not their best, the rest of the CD has some real ... I dunno, power to it. I'm not usually one to go for bands like this, especially considering I'm over my Linking Park or Papa Roach days (reminds me of early sophomore year). But this album is just ... really good! I guess it's just a brilliant mix, a steady and stellar female voice with some powering guitars. But actually, the tracks where the music is just orchestral or the guitars drop out really make for the better portions of the album. This chick has a great voice, and she's cute! Very cute. ..... sign, I sound like Joanna.

I actually love that "Bring Me To Life" song. I downloaded the video, pretty cool. The singer in it is a guest from 12 Stones, an amazing Christian band. But yeah, Amy Lee does have an amazing voice And only being 20 years old, Amy has a lot of time to improve and become even more remarkable. I really like how they started as just Amy Lee and Ben Moody (vocals and guitar) and did most of their stuff together, only recently gaining a second guitarist and a drummer. Also, I agree with Spork, Amy is very.... i dont know if i want to use cute or beautiful. But she's at least one of those. Currently there is a collage of her and the bands pics on my desktop. And the cover art on their CD is cool too. Go visit their website and check them out. http://www.evanescence.com
Genesis 1:22 **I haven't added this footnote in a while, so i forgot where i left off
God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth
I dunno, the part with the 12 Stones guy (I knew he was the singer, I thought I posted that, but guess I forgot) doesn't do anything for me. That whole song, it's just too Linkin Park for my tastes. But what I like about Evanescence, is who they cite as their influences. Bjork (rawk), Tori Amos, and Danny Elfman? That's just kickass right there, what kind of band cites Danny Elfman as a reference.

no offense, but 12 stones is not really that amazing. in fact i pretty much consider them a mindless creed/nickelback clone.
what evanescence shares with 12 stones, though, and what i think makes them a really great band to listen to, is the record-label backing. They're on wind-up records and definitely got a good chunk of change to record their album. You can hear the experience in the mastering and engineering on the record in the soaring vocals, reverb/chorus/layering and general sound quality. So many of the songs have a very "big" sound that few bands capture on their first attempt. They do seem a bit overproduced at times, and putting Amy Lee on the front cover like that is a pretty obvious attempt to sell records to guys, but i really like them as well. I think its hilarious that the FreeDB lists their genre as "goth-pop." It is nice, though, that they're not follwing the popular "goth" formula of trying as hard as they can to be abrasive and having a "F-the-world" attitude about everything.

To give my two cents, I haven't heard 12 stones, but I really dislike the guy singing out of place in the Evanescence song. Supposedly there's a version without Paul (12 stones guy) for that Bring Me To Life song and it's a lot better. He was getting some heat on the Evanescence forums, I guess a lot of people don't like him on the track either.
As far as Fallen goes, the album is very well produced for a debut album. They've also got a lot more than just vocals, guitar, and drums; most obvious being pianos and orchestras. It's a nice mix, and the vocals are incredible and the lack of the f-word and f-the-world is a promising aspect.

Call me an idiot, but is Windup Records a Christian label? I found my copy of Evanescence in a christian book store and they also have 12 Stones on their lable. I just got so psyched to find out that Evanescence's group members are christian, I loved them before, but this just adds to it.
As for 12 Stones, I like the nickleback sound and to have it in a christian band, I enjoy that. Find me some better Christian bands of various genres and I'll give them a try.

And there was evening, and there was morning-the fifth day
i was going to go look to be sure, but then realized that both boy hits car and boy sets fire are on wind up, so no. definitely, definitely: no.
there's nothing wrong about saying girls are cute. sillybutt.
"They've also got a lot more than just vocals, guitar, and drums; most obvious being pianos and orchestras. "
Ummm... everyone and their mum has pianos and orchestras. ;)
And to touch on another point... I actually like some Linkin Park. Not all, just some, but they put together some decent songs for driving to...

yeah, I did too for a long time, but I just sort of got over that phase
Yeah, I liked them, then got over it, now I sorta like them again. I'm almost tempted to call it a vicious cycle, but that's overused. ;)

yea and im not the only girl that says guys are cute.
yes you are.

so, what is the differnce between cute, pretty, and beautiful? I'm trying to stop using exagerations. Like saying that I "love" something when I really just like it or enjoy it. It's just annoying how such a powerful word like love is over used and thus the true impact and meaning is watered down to a mere shibboleth.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
on the love front ... it is my understanding that it is ok to love someone but far different to be IN LOVE with them, that's more extreme, but a girl would be a better source for information than I
on the beautiful cute front, it's like ... a girl can be both beautiful and cute, but doesn't always have to be beautiful to be cute .... cute is like girl next door kinda deal, really attractive for her innocense and simple yet pretty features ... beautiful I see as a more extreme level of visual attraction ... and gorgeous being even further ... pretty I see as a bit more loose, but closest to beautiful
Funnyt story, I actually use cute differently depending on who I'm speaking with. Well, maybe I only change my definition with my younger brother. With him, any pretty or beautiful girl without a "nice rack" I have to describe to Jimmy as cute. Because if a girl comes on and I'm like "wow, she's beautiful" or she's pretty or even she's gorgeous, he'll say "you're weird, she's nothing special" only because Jimmy only looks at the body. THEREFORE, when I talk with him, if that happens, I used to have to say "well all I meant is she's cute" (or if I thought she was gorgeous) "REALLY CUTE." Now I've sort of trained myself to use cute when I'm around jimmy to describe a girl who's very attractive but no body.
so cute, pretty, and beautiful applies only to physical characteristics? How would you describe a woman you know more personally who is both attractive physically and also attractive in their personality and interlligence? Would more adjectives be needed?
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them
no, you just say "she had a cute personality" or she had a "beautiful personality" ...
