basically, I have two databases

basically, I have two databases ... an access database and a sql database

I upgraded to win2k service pack 4, and then upgraded to the .NET Framework v1.1

well, updating the .NET Framework created a new machine.config ... this is understandable, and this was the reason for the down time a few days ago, joanna and basik's sites as well

One of the two upgrades also fucked over my access database (thankfully, not the sql database, the important one)

So, I couldn't get the poll to work, the only thing that used the access database

So I double clicked the page, instead of right clicking going to open with> notepad, and so frontpage pops up ... I hate frontpage

I try to make my changes from there, and I save and test, and it's stupid "auto format" shit has messed the entire page up... no sweat, I'll pull the page from a backup

Well, I pull up a backup, copy it, paste it over the old one, load the page ... turns out my backup was REALLY REALLY OLD

So that explains the terrible layout right now. I have lost the only copy of the old layout.

No matter, I can remodel the layout based off of the comments page, because it's similar. After this is done, I'm also going to move thespork.com off of ASP 3.0 and move it to ASP.NET (Joanna and Basik use completely ASP.NET versions of the update script, while I do not because that means my poll doesn't work)

so yeah, oops

spork.

This is Spork ...

.NET login is temporarily broken from here, so what you have to do is visit here and login and then return to the news piece you'd like to comment on.

Thanks for the understanding.

ok, I reverted back from .NET 1.1 to .NET 1.0 cause it broke too much shit ...
