Freshman class registration sucks. The only english course I can take is at 7:30am. It's like high school all over again...

Anyone agree? Who's registered already? Is anyone (like me) still waiting for their window? What's your story?

Actually I got to register the first day it was open to the campus. I had the 11.30a time slot. I got my pick of classes and now I have Fridays off, and don't have class until noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But that's just me...and because I am a "James Scholar"...my advisor made me fill out the application...its a sweet deal...

And english sucks...glad I dont have to take that at all....

I don't have to take english, I just want to. Don't think I will this quarter...

I don't know how they set up the windows here, I know honors got to do it early but other than that I have no idea... some people I talked to get to register even later than me...

it's all based on social security numbers here ...

I have a pretty earliy registration time because i got lucky, but my whole schedule next quarter is chosen for me anyway.

next quarter I'm a sophomore though, so I get to register a day early with the rest of the sophomores.

I register friday. I'm going to get a sweet schedule though. We have class periods like high school, with 1-4 before lunch and 5-6 after. I get 5-6 off every day, so i'll be out of class by 11:45. Go from there to lunch and straight to the pool for a nap before practice. If i validate swimming, i'm going to have so much free time i might actually be able to have a life or something too. Registration opens at noon, so im just gonna hammer the living hell out of the server.

it goes by credit hours here, and since i had so many coming in here, i got to register a few days earlier (friday) than all my freshman friends. i have sophomore standing so i had no trouble getting into all my classes. if i had waited a day later to register, though, i would have been closed out of french and international relations, which are both very much needed for my two majors. manual was awesome in that there were so many APs offered. if it weren't for those, i'd be stuck in the pile of shit that all the freshmen who just signed up yesterday. i

Woohoo! No AP credits and 2.0GPA make Iain a dull boy!

grant: how do you get 5-8 off and what does it mean to validate swimming

danielle: yeah, i'm only a freshman for this quarter, winter quarter (the one I'm registering for) I'm a sophomore. Unfortunately, I'm only a sophomore winter quarter if I pass the classes I'm taking right now, so technically they can't let me register as a sophomore in case I fail a class. this makes sense, cause when you become a sophomore with no ap credit would be after spring quarter or during summer quarter ... so technically, registering for summer quarter (if you're doing something like that) you're still a freshman ... hope that made sense

So yeah, registration for spring quarter I'm a sophomore ... woot woot!

For periods 5 and 6 (13:30-14:20 & 14:30-15:20) i dont have classes because i tested out of government so i can go chill out like a normal college student. Im not allowed to sleep, but screw that cause i completely plan to. I still have classes most days for all morning periods (7:55-11:45), but even then i get some time off.
We have to take PE classes every semester (right now i'm boxing & wrestling), but next semester is swimming, so i'm going to take the final on the first day and not have to go to class for the rest of the semester.

update: registered today. Registration for plebes opened at 12:00. I clicked the link at 12:00:01 but it took me 3 hours to load the page up, and by the time I got to the final submit page, the server had gone down for scheduled maintenance (5:00pm). I got back on later and was able to enter my preferences, but I think practically everyone else got through before me. I think if i get my first choices the way I entered them, i'll still get a sweet schedule, but it could have been so perfect and now i dont think it will be :(
