So I have this job

| 9 Comments | No TrackBacks

So I have this job offer ... $1517 twice a week for Hamilton Sundstrand and I guess the only problem is that the job is for Winter and Spring quarters. So to miss 6 months of class and then be gone for the summer as well could potentially suck.

I also interviewed with Advance Transformer and I'm pretty certain they'll offer me a job, however I don't want their job because it is an IT position. Though, we'll see cause if they pay very well it might be worth it.

I need to figure this all out. It would be nice not to take classes in the Winter.

if you mean $1517... HOLY CRAP! I barely made that much working all summer for a construction company. or am i retarded and not realizing what 1517 stands for?

Yeah, it'd be close to a $36,000 sallary. Pretty sweet, I am calling the woman today to figure out if I can still take the position just under a different work period (like spring summer instead of winter spring).

Little update ... today I had to temporarily turn down the offer as it stood for Spring Semester (my winter and spring quarters). She is going to get back to me if it is possible to work a shortened summer semester plus a full fall semester next year, which essentially would be my summer and fall quarters.

such a drag, they were going to pay me so much, but somehow I feel like unless they work out the whole quarter system thing this isn't going to work. It seems to me this company is somewhat challenged if they can't make a few arrangements for something like this. I dunno, what do I know. There will be more offers, hopefully even some as high paying as this one.

I don't understand why colleges do the quarter system. CCU does the semesters and it seems to work perfectly fine, though we are a small private university. It's so wierd to call this school a university when it was a college not three months ago.

P.S.
Might I suggest that you don't have to go this alone... there is someone who listens and has the power to help. If nothing else, it's relieving to know this and talk to Him. Just a thought form your friendly Bigg Dawg. Peace.

I enjoy the quarter system. It has its negatives, yes, but if every school were quarters then there'd be no negatives. It means you only have a class for ten weeks, and you only have four classes. Not six or whatever you crazy kids take. It's fun. I dunno, it also is all I know, too. LOL.

PS - Was that another christian quote? Or an actual message to me? Sometimes I can't tell if you forget I'm Catholic or do it BECAUSE I'm Catholic. hehe

huh, for some reason I thought you were Christian, didn't know you were Catholic. learn something new everyday.

yea, quarter system rocks the hizzouse. (LET IT BE NOTED THAT THAT IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE USED ANY SNOOPDOGG LINGO). the breaks are actually breaks because you have new classes after each one, you eventually get to take more classes a year than you would with semesters because you have 3 new class periods, and it makes school go by a lot quicker. plus, even though the majority of the people are on semesters, all the people on quarter systems have the same breaks :) THOUGH JOHN NEVER WANTS TO SPEND THEM WITH ME. anyhoo, thats all.

Yeah, it is nice to be between finals and new classes for every break, I dunno about 3 new classes each quarter, cause I get 4 new classes ... school definitely goes faster. It is nice to share breaks with Jo. And Jo, I'm sorry, but December 11-17th I'll be in Colorado on skitrip. (I'll be snowboarding)

had to mention: just got back from a Pedro the Lion concert... really freaking awesome. I just started listening to them and have Control, but they are really good live. Starflyer 59 was there too, to open. They were decent, I liked them.
